Balamb Garden
Villages,Towns and Cities - RPG HAVEN
at the beginning of the game, Balamb Garden is a center of celebration as its most recent class of SeeDs enjoy their graduation ball while Balamb cadets prepare for the annual Garden Festival. The Garden's serenity, however, is broken when Seifer, a Balamb cadet, threatens the life of Galbadian president Vinzer Deling. Garden attempts to distance itself from the incident, but Galbadia Garden's power is soon directly threatened by both Deling and the rise of his ally, Sorceress Edea. The Galbadian Garden Headmaster, Martine, orders Balamb SeeDs Squall, Quistis, Zell, and Selphie to pair with Galbadian SeeD Irvine Kinneas to assassinate the Sorceress.
When the assassination plot fails, the enraged Sorceress vows revenge. She takes command of Galbadia Garden herself, and launches a missile strike against Balamb and Trabia Garden. Trabia Garden is destroyed, but the party manages to save Balamb by restarting the ancient Centra machinery which allows Balamb Garden to morph into its mobile form. Barely evading the missile attack, the Garden speeds out of control past Balamb town and heads out to sea. With its navigation and piloting systems malfunctioning, the Garden soon crashes stern-first into Fisherman's Horizon. Mechanics at Fisherman's Horizon are familiar with the Centra technology, and perform a complete renovation on Balamb Garden. At the same time, Headmaster Cid appoints Squall as the Garden's commander before going into hiding at Edea's Orphanage. Once the mobile machinery is repaired, Balamb SeeD Xu takes on the role of Garden navigator, while Nida fills the position of pilot.
Shortly thereafter, the newly retrofitted Garden engages mobile Galbadia Garden, now under the control of the Sorceress, in direct combat at Edea's Orphanage. While Balamb cadets prepare for a military assault, the flying Gardens literally butt heads as their pilots ram the two hulls together, effectively tangling the structures. Balamb receives heavy damage, and party of its Quad is completely destroyed. Galbadian paratroopers and motorcyclists board the Garden, breaking classroom windows and wreaking havoc on Balamb Garden's interior as SeeDs and cadets attempt to defend their home. The conflict is finally resolved when the party boards Galbadia Garden and finally defeats Sorceress Edea, though not before Balamb suffers heavy casualties. Balamb's inhabitants, however, immediately focus on repairing damage to both the Garden and each other.

Alexandria
Villages,Towns and Cities - RPG HAVEN
is a both a nation and the capitol of that nation on the planet of Gaia in Final Fantasy IX. It is a large kingdom centered on a plateau in the northern Mist Continent, extending out over the Zamo and Gunitas basins. A monarchy, it is ruled by Queen Brahne Alexandros and later Princess Garnet til Alexandros XVII. Alexandria is well-known for its all-female army led by General Beatrix and a group of male knights in charge of protecting the city, known as the Knights of Pluto led by Captain Adelbert Steiner.
At the beginning of the game, the kingdom is celebrating Princess Garnet's 16th birthday. To celebrate, a huge show is being put on by the Tantalus Troupe: a performance of Lord Avon's famous play I Want to be Your Canary. The Tantalus Troupe were actually hired by Regent Cid Fabool IX of Lindblum to kidnap Princess Garnet to get her away from her slightly deranged mother. In a twist of events, Garnet actually wants to be kidnapped because she believes her mother has been acting strangely lately.
Alexandria is very closely linked to the powerful regency of Lindblum; therefore, Regent Cid is also worried about the Queen's behaviour. It is later discovered that the Queen has been under the influence of Kuja, a weapons dealer of sorts who persuades her to take over the Mist Continent in order to further his own schemes. Brahne uses an ancient extraction ritual to take Garnet's Eidolons with which she might attack neighboring nations.
Queen Brahne eventually comes to her senses, just before dying after being attacked by Bahamut, which had been captured by Kuja and was later used in attacking the city. During the attack, Alexandria is defended by the Eidolon Alexander, which was hidden within the castle and unlocked through the joining of magic between Eiko and Garnet. Unfortunately, after Alexander destroys Bahamut, Garland appears with the Invincible and decimates the city. Throughout the rest of the game the player can return to Alexandria by use of Airship, but it remains in bad shape indefinitely.
In the game's final scene occurring some time after the final battle at Memoria, Alexandria seems to have been restored to its former glory.

Midgar
Villages,Towns and Cities - RPG HAVEN
Midgar is the main city in the world of Final Fantasy VII and its spinoffs. It's very technologically advanced, due to the Mako Reactors. It consists of an upper plate, or so-called "pizza" atop the eight sectors, which used to be respective cities, but now are mostly slums with decaying earth and no vegetation, due to the Mako Reactors draining the life force around Midgar. On top of the upper plate is the headquarters of Shin-Ra Electric Power Company that controls the whole city. The 'leader' of Midgar, although Shin-Ra introduced a figurehead mayor, was President Shinra, until his death, and then the position was taken by his son Rufus Shinra. The city is destroyed by the Lifestream, and is in ruins. Parts of the city's ruins are used to build the city of Edge off of the "edge" of the city in the movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. But Midgar was soon the site of great battles in both Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus.

Nelbelheim
Villages,Towns and Cities - RPG HAVEN
The home town of spiky haired hero Cloud and Tifa. This is were all the madness happened. This was originally Cloud's home. If you want to know more play the game....
(only jokin)
Nibelheim is a small mountain village close to Cosmo Canyon, in the world of Final Fantasy VII, . It is the hometown of both Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart. The village was burnt to the ground by Sephiroth, killing most of its inhabitants. Later however, the Shin-Ra corporation rebuilt the town and populated it with its own employees - covering up the incident. Most of the Shin-Ra's Sephiroth clones, waiting for the Reunion, can be found all around the town. There is Mako Reactor located on nearby Mt. Nibel.
The mansion, having been in Shin-Ra Electric Power Company's possession for ages, has been the setting for many different events.
Many years before the events of the main storyline of Final Fantasy VII, the basement was used for experiments by the head of Shin-Ra's Science Division, Hojo. He used Jenova cells on his colleague Lucrecia Crescent, which ultimately lead to the birth of Sephiroth. During these events, he also shot and experimented on Vincent Valentine, a Turk, who protested against Hojo's methods, as well as being in love with Lucrecia. He would later repent for his sins by resigning himself to a coffin in the mansion's basement.
Later, the SOLDIERs Sephiroth and Zack Fair arrived at Nibelheim. Originally stationed there to defeat the many monsters abound, Sephiroth found the huge library in the mansion's basement, learning the truth about his origins, as well as losing his mind. After finally learning the truth, in a fit of rage, he burned down the town of Nibelheim, but was later seemingly stopped by Cloud Strife, a low-class grunt in Shin-Ra's army. Zack was nearly killed by Sephiroth, and after he was assassinated by the Turks, Cloud took over Zack's identity. Cloud later arrived at the mansion, and found Sephiroth in the basement again

Hyrule
Villages,Towns and Cities - RPG HAVEN
It most commonly refers to the Kingdom of Hyrule where the Royal Family of Hyrule resides, but can also apply to the surrounding lands and world not governed by the kingdom. Hyrule was formed by the goddesses Din, Farore, and Nayru. According to Hylian legend as depicted in Ocarina of Time, Din created the physical geography of the realm, Nayru set forth the laws that would govern the land, and Farore created the many races who would uphold the law, as well as the flora, and fauna that inhabit the world. Once the goddesses had completed their tasks, they departed for the heavens, and left behind them three golden triangles. Into these they put their power to govern all things; this relic became known as the Triforce. The realm itself was eventually named after its dominant race, the Hylia.
